The orange, gold, and brown motif of the Nzinga Head Wrap represent Africa's people, wealth, and strength. Queen Nzinga was the monarch of the Mbundu people in present-day Angola. She was a resilient leader who fought against the Portuguese and their expanding slave trade in Central Africa. She also orchestrated guerilla attacks on the Portuguese which resulted in an independent Angola in 1975.
